Experience the impact of your decisions 'live'
Did you know...
Everyday your leaders make decisions that
affect your profitability and business success.
Unfortunately, few leaders understand how their decisions affect your business or that of your customers.
Part of the job of a leader is protection – protecting your organisation and your customers from making bad decisions.
But, if your leaders don’t understand your business, how can they possibly help or advise with impact?
Here's the good news...
The Business Experience resolves this challenge and more,
by introducing participants to the realities of running a business.

The Solution...
The Business Experience is a competitive classroom-based or online board game, that focuses on business strategy and tactics, commercial decision making, planning, resource allocation, risk management, the importance of understanding your competitors, knowing your market and customers…and so much more!
Six teams will start up and grow a business, make strategic and tactical decisions, and then experience the consequences of their decisions in a ‘live’ competitive marketplace.

Game Structure...
The Business Experience is run in ‘business cycles’ (aka rounds) with a detailed assessment of the business strategy, business performance, market share, resource allocation and customer satisfaction etc, taking place at the end of each round.
In between rounds your trainers will deliver short knowledge-builds on important commercial topics to reinforce learning, share key corporate messages, company strategy and policies etc. (all of which will be agreed with you).
At the end of the final day, your trainers will review each business in-depth, discuss what each team did well to drive profit and the core learning points each team member has gained from the programme, together with how they are going to apply their learning with clients and in your business.
One of the core benefits of this programme is that participants can immediately see the impact of their decisions and apply their learning to their own simulated business. This is a key factor for their success going forward making it easier to apply to their roles in the workplace.
Examples of commercial topics covered between rounds.
AFTER ROUND 1
Brief review / refresher of financial statements, the interaction between the Income Statement and Balance Sheet, financial terminology, and definitions.
AFTER ROUND 2
Cash vs. profit: Why are they different? Which is most important and why? The importance of cash flow management.
AFTER ROUND 3
Ways of improving your cash position – operational solutions, management policy options, strategic approaches, and financial solutions
AFTER ROUND 4
What is the biggest driver of profit in business price or volume? Realisation exercise to understand the impact of a 10% discount has on profit.
AFTER ROUND 5
Customer retention and creating customer loyalty. The importance of knowing your customers and market.
The need for a strategy and the nature of competition
Please note: As part of the final programme design, we will work with you to identify the best and most relevant commercial topics to share with your teams between rounds.

Dragon's Den (aka Sharks Tank)
A Dragon’s Den, or Shark Tank, is a great addition to a 2-day business game. After Round 4, on Day 2, each team will present to Senior Leaders from your organisation, on their business performance to secure future investment for the next 5 years. Participants will be given up to 10 minutes to deliver a winning presentation to secure further investment for their business. Only two teams will win investment.
Including the Dragon’s Den (or Shark Tank) will ensure your sales teams get ‘under the skin’ of their business and can clearly communicate their understanding of the marketplace, competition, business challenges, future plans, opportunities, financial performance and why they should be awarded investment.
Psychologically, including the Dragon’s Den (or Shark Tank), is often a rewarding ‘stretch’ with great personal learning for an individual or team to present to Senior Leaders.
